About me

alexelyukov

As a child I wrote formulas on the asphalt with a piece of drywall, in my first year at university I read Landau and Lifshitz, and then I finished my postgraduate studies.

I believe that a silicon brain is conscious. I do not rule out that we live in a simulation, but that does not make it unreal. I take death as the horizon from which I count my plans for today, and the event as a rupture in the order of things from which a new truth begins. A truth has no proof other than fidelity to it: the one who endures to the end is the true one. As best I can, I try to measure my actions against the New Testament and confess them before Christ.

I love solving hard problems, philosophizing and daydreaming. I love chess, especially when the sun draws shadows on the board.

I love autumn, when the leaves hide the mushrooms and the house smells of cabbage soup and of smoke that the damp keeps from getting up the chimney. I love spring, when the puddles are iced over in the morning and birch sap crunches on the teeth with a cold freshness. I love winter, when the sweet chokeberries no longer pucker the mouth, the smoke rises straight up and the dusk begins to press down with its sleepy weight. I love summer: morning mist, the chirping of grasshoppers and the smell of cornflowers and freedom.

I love dancing in step with the absurd and laughing at myself. I believe that beauty will save the world.
